CHESS INFORMANT CHESS

"Chess Informant Chess" is different from the classic chess in one detail only. Namely, white pawn that reaches the 7th line can remain PAWN, but it can be promoted into one of the following pieces: ROOK, BISHOP or KNIGHT. The same is valid for a black pawn that reaches the 2nd line. The analyses which have been made in the previous period showed that there would not be essential changes in openings and combinations, however the game would differ very much from the actual chess in the ending.

For example, in classic chess, all the endings where one side has a king and a pawn, while the other side has only the king become finally a draw if the weaker side has opposition. It would not be the case with "Chess Informant Chess". The side which has one pawn more would be in a winning position, except if it is the question of "b" or "g" pawn where the game would end as a draw, which means that only in this case the final result would be identical with the classic chess.

The same case is with other endings (bishop-knight, rook or queen), the side which has one pawn more would practically have a decisive advantage. By that a number of the decided games would be much bigger in the "Chess Informant Chess" than in the classic chess.

Chess Informant Chess is especially conveninet for playing on the Internet, as it is very easy to make a promotion.

EXAMPLE 1: Rook promotion
